    The Aichi E-13 seaplane served the Imperial Japanese Navy primarily as ship based reconnaissance and patrol aircraft often based on cruisers and battleships of the Imperial Fleet. The Aichi E-13 was code named "Jake" by the United States Navy and Army Air Force fliers that flew against it. The aircraft served throughout WWII in the Pacific and Indian Ocean theatres of operation.
