If your kid is still learning the sight words, spread out groups of 6 fish to prevent them from becoming overwhelmed. Hand your kid the pole and explain that he is the fishing man in this round. Read a sight word, make a simple sentence with the word, spell it out loud and read it again. For example, “AND, You AND I are having fun. AND. A-N-D, AND.” Your kid catch the matching fish, he can keep it. If they don’t get the word correct, give the child some practice with the word.
